Smiley Children Society Advances Child Welfare Through Education, Volunteerism, and Community Engagement
Mandapeta, Andhra Pradesh: A child’s future is shaped not only by education but also by the support of the community that surrounds them. Guided by this belief, Smiley Children Society has been working to improve the lives of underprivileged children through education-focused social initiatives since its establishment on January 19, 2019.
Founded by Prudhvi Moses, the organization has built a strong presence across Andhra Pradesh with its headquarters in Mandapeta and branch offices in Angara (East Godavari District) and Pothavaram (West Godavari District). Over the years, Smiley Children Society has become known for its volunteer-driven approach to educational development and child welfare.
One of the organization’s primary initiatives is supporting children who are unable to access education due to financial or social challenges. Volunteers actively identify children who are not enrolled in school, visit their families, provide counseling on the importance of education, and assist them in securing admission to nearby government schools.
The initiative has been appreciated by Headmaster Swamy Narayan, who recognized the organization’s contribution to increasing school enrollment and commended Founder Prudhvi Moses for his consistent efforts to promote education in rural communities.
“Education creates opportunities that last a lifetime. By working together with schools, parents, and volunteers, we can ensure that every child receives the opportunity to learn and build a better future,” said Prudhvi Moses.
To support students after enrollment, Smiley Children Society operates free evening tuition classes at its Angara branch. The program provides additional academic guidance, helping children strengthen their understanding of subjects, complete homework, and prepare confidently for examinations.
As part of its commitment to children’s overall well-being, the organization also serves free dinner to students attending the tuition sessions. This initiative helps ensure that children have access to nutritious meals while reducing the financial burden on their families.
Beyond academic support, Smiley Children Society continues to advocate for creative and child-friendly learning methods in Anganwadi centres. Speaking at educational programs, including an event at ZPHS Angara, Prudhvi Moses emphasized that activity-based learning, storytelling, educational games, art, and interactive teaching techniques can significantly improve children’s interest in education and strengthen their cognitive development.
To encourage innovative education, the organization regularly donates educational equipment, classroom furniture, learning materials, and teaching aids to schools that are committed to creating engaging learning environments.
Looking ahead, Smiley Children Society plans to expand its educational outreach, strengthen collaboration with educational institutions, and encourage more volunteers to join its mission of community service. By integrating education, nutrition, innovation, and compassion, the organization continues to empower children with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities they need to succeed in life.
Through sustained grassroots efforts and a long-term commitment to social development, Smiley Children Society remains dedicated to building a future where every child has access to education and the chance to realize their full potential.
